The cell group ministry aims to foster the love of God’s Word among God’s people. When believers come together regularly to study God’s Word, they will have a deeper understanding of God and His salvation plan through our Lord Jesus Christ. When convicted of the truth by the Holy Spirit, this brings about repentance of sin, as well as a growing faith and obedience to God. Together, everyone learns to live a life worthy of God’s calling (Ephesians 4:1)
Being in a cell group also allows members to care for one another. This is done through walking our spiritual journey closely with one another. In a small group, members feel free to openly share their joys and sorrows. Everyone showers care and concerns for one another, supporting and praying for one another. We love one another, because God first loved us (1 John 4:19).
The cell group ministry also continually equip our cell group leaders so that they can correctly handle God’s Word (2 Timothy 2:15). The cell group leaders meet fortnightly to discuss the bible study questions before they go back to their own groups to teach their members. We also organise additional equipping sessions to deepen the leaders’ understanding of God’s Word.
In addition, the cell group ministry trains up future leaders through the Leadership Training Programme. This 18-month programme will equip the participants with bible study tools and a deeper understanding of Christian leadership.
For 2019, the ministry will partner Barnabas Ministry to prepare a short course for our cell group leaders. This will equip them to visit their members to care for and minister to them.
In addition, we would prepare bible passages for members who wish to read the bible with another person. The bible passages include those for sharing the gospel, teaching the bible to a younger believer or for mutual encouragement.
