The cell group ministry aims to foster the love of God’s Word among God’s people. When believers come together regularly to study God’s Word, they will have a deeper understanding of God and His salvation plan through our Lord Jesus Christ. When convicted of the truth by the Holy Spirit, this brings about repentance of sin, as well as a growing faith and obedience to God. Together, everyone learns to live a life worthy of God’s calling (Ephesians 4:1)
Being in a cell group also allows members to care for one another. This is done through walking our spiritual journey closely with one another. In a small group, members feel free to openly share their joys and sorrows. Everyone showers care and concerns for one another, supporting and praying for one another. We love one another, because God first loved us (1 John 4:19).
The cell group ministry also continually equip our cell group leaders so that they can correctly handle God’s Word (2 Timothy 2:15). The cell group leaders meet fortnightly to discuss the bible study questions before they go back to their own groups to teach their members. We also organise additional equipping sessions to deepen the leaders’ understanding of God’s Word.
In addition, the cell group ministry trains up future leaders through the Leadership Training Programme. This 18-month programme will equip the participants with bible study tools and a deeper understanding of Christian leadership.
For 2018, the ministry will organise a short term equipping course for the
congregation on bible study tools. We hope that the course will help our worshippers
to read and understand the bible on their own. We will also conduct the Growth
Groups course for our small group leaders. This will equip them to better understand
bible passages to teach them to their members, as well as how to care for their Christian growth and gospel growth.
