Our mission at Sunday school is founded on Colossians 2:6-7, which is to encourage the children to receive Christ as Lord and to teach them to grow and walk in him. We want to proclaim Christ to our children by teaching them the gospel from all of Scripture and we do this in partnership with our parents.
We use The Gospel Story Curriculum because it teaches children that the Bible is one continuous story pointing to Jesus as the hero. Most importantly, this curriculum allows families to talk together about what the children learned that week in class. We do this by encouraging families to use the Long Story Short (Old Testament) and Old Story New (New Testament) devotionals. Families with younger children can read the Gospel Story Bible together.
In light of the Covid19 situation in Singapore, we foresee that our Sunday School will not be able to meet for an extended period of time. Hence, we look forward to equipping parents with the materials that the Sunday School is using. Just like how our Cell Groups have the Bible Study each week before the sermon, parents can go through the Long Story Short and Old Story New devotionals with their children before the Sunday School lesson of the week.
